OUCHHH!!

Can you run with an Ulcer??

I was just recently diagnosed with a bleeding ulcer, not fun but it’s small enough that it will heal in a couple of weeks (fingers crossed).

Hahahaha man I thought this was the end of my running days but I guess you can run with an ulcer as long as you eat right and 6 times a day.

I am so lucky to have these girls to run with, they keep me motivated and laughing the entire time.  So OC half marathon here I come J

Roadrunner Shoe Store – Asics Nimbus Perfect Fit, Love It!

After I had my moment on Saturday where I told myself I need to get by OCD Mojo back, I went home, showered, ate and then I went to The Roadrunner Shoe store. Love that place.  I did my “Shoe Dog” experience (they have a black and white dalmation as their mascot – Cute), they had me get on the treadmill, filmed my ankles/feet as I jog for a few seconds and were able to pinpoint what or where I may have the aches and pain.  They helped me find the right type of shoe, it was great.  I love Asics, they have the stability and cushioning that I need for a great feel, they feel great from head to toe. I thought I could try a different brand but after trying on several different brands of shoes (New Balance, Nike, Adidas, Brooks, etc.) I kept coming back to the Asics Nimbus Gel shoes.  At The Roadrunner Store, they are helpful and very nice. I would recommend to anyone that if you can get a chance go there for your running shoes and if you sign up for VIP, you get a discount on almost all items.

It's All About the Warm Up...

Honk Honk!

Soooo, everyday at lunch we run about 2.5 miles.
Today we got honked at.
 I feel sexy!
When I ran by the Carl's Jr. I didn't even get the normal hamburger craving.
It's a good day!

State of Panic

OMG! I felt a little cramp and I thought to myself oh yeah I know what's coming soon. And then I thought Holy Sh*t I need to check my Period Calender and low and behold I will be on my 3rd day yeah thats right ladies 3rd day or should I say the WORST DAY FOR THE OC MARATHON!!! So hence this State of Panic has settled in.  What am I gonna do I can barley run 2 miles when my friend comes visits, how am I going to complete a half marathon???? I heard about the women friendly runner runners trick of how to pee while standing up when you are wearing shorts. Does the same technique apply for changing a tampon? I'm at a loss here. Do runner runners even have period? Probably not. And besides only runner runners wear those retarded shorts. If there was ever a time when I though I might actually pass out on the side of the trail this is definetly it. HELPPP.. - SCARED TO RUN NON RUNNER

Where the hell is the rain?

It's supposed to rain today! (Please rain by 11:300) That's the reason I brought my running gear to work. You know, good intentions...blah blah blah.

I posted this on FB today...

“If you don't like something, change it. If you can't change it, change your attitude.” ~ Maya Angelou

Since I can't Not run (because my co-non-runners are mean and will judge me for it) I guess I better change my attitude about today's run.

I love running! I'm a runner! I'm a runner! I'm an f'ing runner, damn it!

Do runners swear? I don't think they do....Don't they wear organic cotton, eat twigs and berries, and speak only positive words?

If this offended any of you runner runners.....I don't care. BTW, I'm working really hard (half-assed) to become one of you.

Love and kisses from this non-runner who is praying really hard for rain!

Martha

Today, I’m dedicating my blog post to Martha. I miss Martha. I love all my runner girls but Martha always brought some hilarity to our runs and I miss her. Maybe that’s the difference in our training so far. We’re missing one of our puzzle pieces.

It has been relayed to us that Martha’s surgery yesterday went well. For the readers that don’t know, she underwent a double mastectomy which I imagine is ten times worse than any marathon itself. All our thoughts are with her and she is definitely a defining part of this blog whether she knows it or not. I know she will be up and running with us again hopefully sooner rather than later. And this time, she will be running with a new set of beautiful, gigantic boobs. Can we say new sports bra? Good luck with that one Martha…I hate running with my huge chest. And you ASKED them for huge ones. I will never understand. Never.

Martha, you are the most dedicated runner I know. You even wore someone ELSE’s bib in the Cheesbro half marathon just so you could torture yourself in the hills of L.A. to get that damn medal! I miss running at your pace on the Green River trail. I miss chatting and laughing with you while the bikers yell at us to get out of the way. I miss “Is it moving? Is it moving?” Hurry up and get well so you can join us again. I miss you!

Don't be jealous

I had a burrito for lunch...with steak, guac & sour cream.

That is all.

Impairment

So, I'm working on getting a slideshow organized for the blog. Not quite ready just yet, hopefully by next week I’ll have something put together. I think so far our running blog has been a success! We are starting out slow on our hits but we have tracked some readers from Hawaii all the way to Indiana! And we don’t even know anyone in Indiana. So yay- GO US!

This upcoming weekend is supposed to be a 10 mile run. Easy-peisy. Everyone keeps bitching about how hard their running has been lately but I think once we get over that 10 mile mark we might all start to get the groove back. I also think that if everyone can do 10 miles then they can do the half marathon with no problems. Easy for me to say since I have all the way up to September to train for a HALF and they have 40 days until their half. Lucky me! I’ll be lounging in the sun listening to bands play, eating yummy food and mingling with crowds while they are panting, sweating, crying, and complaining about 13.1 miles. Gotta love it!

I’ve recently discovered a lump in my neck which might impact my running skills. I’m hoping it will be the end of my running career. If I can retire right before the Long Beach Full Marathon that would be ideal. I guess if I can run with my toenails all nasty and falling off then I can run with a lump in my neck.

If anyone reading this blog wants to contribute to our entry fees and sponsor us you can easily send me a message and I can work that out for you. Marathons are expensive. Especially the Disneyland Marathon. We could use running shoes, clothes, or anything else running related as well. Email me. Thanks for your support! And thanks for following our blog. We love to entertain. J

Where is my OCD Mojo?

I usually am not much for routine or superstituous or OCD symptons or anything like that . . until I realized that maybe I am when it comes to this running thing. I went out on Saturday morning to do my jog and as usual I just wasn't feeling it (it took me about 40 minutes just to decide to get out of the car)  but I did it, I finally got going.  As I was by my lonesome self I all I kept thinking was this has to be better, this has to get easier, this can not be that hard (even though it really is) and why can't I seem to get into the groove.  I kept asking why am I being more negative then usual about this, I mean I felt like crap, my shirt was wrinkled, my socks didn't match, my underwear kept crawling up my ass, I can't breath and then it hit me.  I lost my OCD Mojo, I need to get it back.
I am not an OCD person but last year when we would do our running I had a routine on Friday afternoon and Friday night and I think I need to get back into that routne.  I mean really, I went running this weekend with socks that didn't match and my shirt was so wrinkled - that is not me.  Normally I get everything ready, down to the fact that my shorts and shirt were clean and ready to put on (not looking aruond at 6;30 in the morning for a clean shirt and socks), I would I put my right sock in my right shoe, my left sock in my left shoe - yes that was how OCD I was.  I need to get my routine back and yes I will still hate running but maybe it will give me a better overall outlook of the situation.
